When you walk through the doors of the Calico Hutch you will see over 350 samples. Something that is unique to the Calico Hutch Quilt Shop is that each and every one of the samples has a kit. They also have patterns and books to support them. You will get inspired by what you see, pick up a kit, and go home and start your project.

Designed by Alice of Textile Outpost and featured in the Spring 2026 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, this project combines modern aesthetics with approachable quilting techniques. This X Marks the Spot design finishes at 72½ inches square, making it the perfect size for layering on a bed or draping over a sofa.
