Autumn Glory Table Mat

(Adv Beginner)

Wednesday (6-8:30) November 3

Primitive Gathering’s new fall design features many pumpkins, fall leaves and cattails all in rich autumn colors of wool on black/brown flannel.  Mat is 18 x 27, making a beautiful addition to any room.

Borders, Binding Basics and Beyond

(Beginner)

1 Saturday (12-3) December 4

Kim will teach you how to make a flat, full, gorgeous binding with square corners. From there you will learn how to do prairie points, binding with piping, binding with a flange and how to scallop a binding. From beginning to the end you will learn how to make a masterpiece binding to finish your quilt. Kits available - $3.
 


Charisma Boot
(Advanced Beginner)

2 Mondays (6-8:30) November 8 & 15

Learn from Holly how to make these way-cute boots designed by Lila Tueller. Are they a slipper or an UGG, (Slug or Ugger?) So comfortable and so fashionable.  Stop in, pick some fun fabrics and make several pairs for yourself and friends for the holidays.

Feathered Star

Fun & Done - Sticks and Stones Quilt

2 Wednesdays, October 6 & 20 (6-8:30)

Everyone had so much fun making Easy Diamonds Joan is teaching a new model, Stick & Stones, from Prairie Sky Quilting.  Fun & Done is a quilt-as-you-go technique. As you make your blocks you are also machine quilting all three layers together; top, batting and backing. When you are done, you are done!! Joan will show you all the tips and tricks involved and when you’re done, you’re done!  Crib, lap and twin sizes are included in the pattern.  Kits available for lap, twin and table runner.  Instructor Joan Holland. Lucky Stars—Rotary 101 Beginning Quilting

In the Lucky Stars class Merle teaches all the basics needed to begin your quilting career. Learn to rotary cut, piece, press, and all the techniques to finish your quilt top.  Don’t let the stars fool you. It is easy, fast and fun. Kits and patterns available. Instructor Merle Stensrud. Pop in a CD and you can make machine embroidery
appliqué or filled work. Janet guides you through the process and you can finish Seasons Greetings for the holidays. Kits available. Instructor Janet Hintermeister.  Class $15.


Sew Simple Attic Windows
(Beginner with experience)

Learn about grouping fabrics into different light values and also learn a simple no-miter technique to make attic window blocks quickly and easily. Kits available in Moda’s Park Avenue line

Streetcar Bag by Indygo Junction

1 Monday (6-8:30) November 29

Inspired by the styles of the early 1950’s, this roomy shoulder bag combines a practical size and shape with unique detailing. Streetcar has a pretty pleated overlay at the front to give added texture. It fastens with a long pointed tab/magnetic snap and features a shaped strap.  Katie takes you through the steps to creating your very own Streetcar Bag. Kits available. Instructor Katie Zenk. Sunflowers Wool Block of the Month
by Primitive Gatherings

Wonderful hand-dyed wool sunflowers, leaves and stars appliquéd to a brown/black flannel background make a stunning 40 x 40 wall quilt, a warm addition to any room. Kim Zenk guides you to completion through three sessions in three months.

Tribute Troopers
4th Wednesday of each month (5-8 PM)

September 22, October 27 and November 24

Each month the “troopers” gather, share trips and encourage each other as they complete “Civil War Tribute Collection” block of the month quilt, a special 150-year Commemoration of the American Civil War. Kits available (110 x 112) Class free. Join now!!


Turning Twenty – Rotary 101 (Beginner)

2 Thursdays (6-8:30) September 30 and October 14

In the Turning Twenty class Merle teaches all the basics needed to begin your quilting career. Learn to cut, piece, press, and all the techniques to finish your quilt top, 70 x 86 or add an optional border for 82 x 98. It is easy, fast and fun. Kits and patterns available. Instructor Merle Stensrud. Class $20.


Wildflowers and More Wildflowers
(Advanced Beginner)
 

1 Wednesday (6-8:30) November 17

 
Wildflowers and More Wildflowers are appliquie quilts designed for your embroidery machine. The designs are in large, medium and small sizes, ART, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PCS, PES, VP3 and XXX formats. Stop in and see both versions. They are beautiful and never need water or weeding. Kits available for both. Instructor Janet Hintermeister.  Class $15.


Zippy Strippy

1 Monday November 22 (6-8:30)

Start collecting buttons, rick-rack and other fun trims for these simple bags. Katie will show you a fast and easy method for putting in a zipper for the “Vera Bradley” look. Kits available.
Instructor Katie Zenk.  Class $15.


Registration and Class Details

In an effort to make every class the best possible experience for everyone:

- We must receive your class fee at least one week prior to class to reserve your space. Phone reservations will be held for five days to allow time for you to mail or drop off your payment. After that time we cannot hold your spot. Please call us if you wish to pay by credit card.

- Once you have paid for the class, you must come in and pick up a class supply list. Supply lists are available March 18 for the spring sessions. Please purchase and assemble all required supplies before class. The Calico Hutch offers a 20% discount on all supplies purchased for classes.

- If you choose to mail in your payment and want us to mail you a class supply list, please enclose a self-address postpaid envelope.

- For common courtesy to the teacher and other students, please arrive early to set up your machine, organize all required class supplies and be ready to start at the designated time. Late arrivals disrupt valuable class instruction.

- Provided we receive seven days notice, we offer a full refund if you cannot attend a class. A refund is also given if we cancel a class due to low enrollment.
