Spiral Star

You may have seen a square version of this quilt on social media. This is Mike’s version using 18 gradated blue fabrics set against a black background. Cut strips and sew your strata and then use a wedge roller to cut them to a perfect size. This is not a beginner quilt - but with Mike’s guidance, this queen-sized show-stopper will fit together like a dream.

Mike invented and designed Equality and would love to teach you how to make it from start to finish.

This easy-to-piece quilt is great in a spectrum of colors, in an assortment of neutrals or in a collection of pinks and reds. Kits are cut as shown in gorgeously matched batik fabrics.  Very little waste makes this an affordable project that finishes to 53 x 68.

Are you interested in paper piecing, but don’t want to fuss with tearing out all the little bits of paper when you’ve finished. Mega Bow Tucks tote (26” x 9” x 17”) is the largest Bow Tucks ever! Hound Dog

This incredible quilt is made up of only two kinds of units - flying geese and squares. Let Kaffe Fassett’s dynamic fabrics do all the work for you as you create positive and negative blocks. Flying Geese can be tricky - let Mike show you his method  - you’ll never be afraid of geese again! This 24 block quilt measures 60 x 84 - and goes together in a snap!

Mike is here to help you make his latest creation and newest pattern “Woven Spectrum”. It appears to be a woven wonder but it is only an optical illusion make to appear woven. Mike will show you how to construct it with his fast, easy method. Woven Spectrum finishes to 71” square, perfect for your wall or coverlet.

Buggy Barn has a very unique and remarkable way of stacking, slashing, swapping and assembling fabrics to create this wonderful Crazy Cat quilt, finishing to 47 x 61 without borders. Class Policies

In an effort to make every class the best possible experience for everyone:  

  • Payment of class fees must accompany registration.  Please call us if you wish to pay by credit card.
  • Once you have paid and registered for class, please come in and pick up a class supply list.  Please purchase and assemble all required supplies before class.
  • Calico Hutch offers a 20% discount on all supplies purchased for classes.
  • If you choose to mail in your payment and want us to mail you a class supply list, please enclose with your payment a self-address post-paid envelope.
  • For common courtesy to the teacher and other students, please arrive early to set up your machine, organize all required class supplies and be ready to start at the designated time.  Late arrivals disrupt valuable class instruction.
  • Provided we receive seven days notice, we offer a full refund as a store credit if you cannot attend a class.  A store credit is given if we cancel a class due to low enrollment.
  • Familiarity with your sewing machine is a requirement.
  • Due to allergies Calico Hutch is a “scent-free” environment.  Thank you for respecting the health of others.
